Bordeaux Box Large

The Large Bordeaux Gift box contains a delicious sample of six of our favourite Bordeaux wines. To give or to keep all for yourself!

Château Goubau 'La Source' 2014, Castillon, Côtes de Bordeaux

Made from a blend of 95% Merlot grapes and 5% Cabernet Franc grapes, the second wine comes from the vineyard parcels facing south and south-west on the slopes bordering the domain's natural source. The wine is spicy and fresh with aromas of red fruits, plums and spice. On the palate the wine is fruity with delicious balance and well-integrated oak; the finish is lively and appealing.

Haut-Médoc 2010 Thienpont Selection

We are absolutely delighted by the price and quality of this estate, which is ideally situated between communes of Margaux and Moulis. Organically cultivated with a blend of 53% Merlot, 23% Cabernet Sauvignon, 19% Petit Verdot, 5% Cabernet Franc, the wine is matured in oak for 1 year. Attractive deep purple colour with hints of violet. The nose, at first restrained, develops with dark fruit and vanilla notes. The palate is supple with a powerful texture, lots of finesse and tightly-knit, fine-grained tannins. Notes of black fruits, imparted by Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot, are nicely balanced and supplemented by the plump roundness of Merlot.

Pessac-Léognan 2010 Thienpont Selection

This 2010 Pessac Leognan has a deep garnet colour with a complex nose showing aromas of cassis, blackcurrants and bramble fruit. The palate is round and generous and full-bodied; supple tannins, with moderate structure from oak and a pretty persistence of dark fruit flavours. Long and well-balanced, this wine is full of character and is ready to drink now and will age for a further five years. An easy-drinking wine, perfect for family and business dinners.

Château Clauzet 2012, Saint-Estèphe

Deep and intense colour; the nose is spicy, earthy, sweet and mineral with autumn fruit aromas. Good acidity at the start with a touch of liquorice and chocolate on the palate. A fine achievement – fresh and rich with silky tannins.

Château La Tour Figeac 2012, Saint-Émilion Grand Cru Classé

This Grand Cru Classé situated between Cheval Blanc and Figeac, has been run on biodynamic organic principles since 1997. It has become a favourite of ours for its rich flavour, its purity and round texture and for its excellent value. Made from a blend of 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc aged for one year in 50% new oak and 50% one-year-old oak, the 2012 was a good success for the domain. The wine is very elegant and fine on the palate and has lovely structure and notes of cedar, leather and fresh plums in the finish. Although it can be enjoyed while young, it will age beautifully over 8-10 years.

Château Ormes de Pez 2011, Saint-Estèphe

Very deep cherry-black colour, intense and rich on the nose with aromas of cherry, cassis and prunes. Quite spicy at the start with an oaky note and pretty freshness on the mid-palate. Good fruit concentration in the mouth. An appealing wine, to be drunk young.
