Château La Tour Figeac 2012, Saint-Émilion Grand Cru Classé

This Grand Cru Classé situated between Cheval Blanc and Figeac, has been run on biodynamic organic principles since 1997. It has become a favourite of ours for its rich flavour, its purity and round texture and for its excellent value. Made from a blend of 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc aged for one year in 50% new oak and 50% one-year-old oak, the 2012 was a good success for the domain. The wine is very elegant and fine on the palate and has lovely structure and notes of cedar, leather and fresh plums in the finish. Although it can be enjoyed while young, it will age beautifully over 8-10 years.

Château Ormes de Pez 2011, Saint-Estèphe

Very deep cherry-black colour, intense and rich on the nose with aromas of cherry, cassis and prunes. Quite spicy at the start with an oaky note and pretty freshness on the mid-palate. Good fruit concentration in the mouth. An appealing wine, to be drunk young.

Château Feytit-Clinet 2011, Pomerol

This year, Feytit-Clinet is characterised by vigour and structure rather than finesse, but the wine is nevertheless richly scented - black cherry, blackberry, cedar and truffles - and generous on the palate. The finish is still tight with powerful tannins, but there is already a lovely texture and very pretty length that lingers on the palate.

Château Haut-Bailly 2007, Pessac-Léognan Graves Cru Classé

Dark ruby colour with youthful aromas of blueberries and blackcurrants with a touch of new oak. On the palate, the wine is juicy, round and supple with an attractive elegance in the finish.

Château Durfort-Vivens 2011, Margaux 2ième Grand Cru Classé

Pretty dark crimson red colour with good depth; pleasant nose with good grapey scents, quite sweet; attractive and fresh on the palate; good flavours of blackcurrant and plums on the palate leading to a finely structured finish.

Château Lynch‐Bages 2012, Pauillac 5ième Grand Cru Classé

Lovely deep colour, intense and rich; intense and very structured on the nose, still quite closed; right from the start, the wine reveals a beautiful fruity dimension – cassis, blackberry and liquorice – with fine concentration and tannic structure. Long and rich on the finish with good ageing potential.
